Silver Strand State Beach
How to Get There: Between Imperial Beach and Coronado, along Silver Strand Boulevard (Highway 75).
Parking: $6 ($5 seniors) weekdays; $8 ($7 seniors) weekends;  entrance fee per vehicle.
Open: 8 am to 8 pm Sept-Oct/April-May; 8 am to 7 pm Nov-March
Specifics: Lifeguards, rest rooms, showers, picnic area, fire pits, bike paths, camping, surfing. There are 134 RV campsites. Fees are $25 to $30 per night. For camping reservations, call Reserve America at (800) 444-7275.
