Horton Plaza

A bastion of European-style architecture and open-air shopping, Horton Plaza has become San Diego's best known shopping extravaganza. The plaza has something for everyone’s purchasing pleasure. A 14-screen movie theater is on the top floor, a nose away from the most delicious cinnamon-bun outlet you’ll ever encounter. The sugary aroma greets you as you wind up through a multilayered courtyard lined with stores of every type, including Nordstrom, two bookstores and a variety of specialty shops. If you brought the kids along, there’s a Sesame Street store, good for hours of childhood enchantment and adult relief. Located at the north entrance of the mall, it is naturally a tourist favorite.
