The Children’s Museum (211 Maple Street) is a magnet for kids. This is a building guaranteed to fascinate kids of any age. Toddlers play with tiny trains; young artists don old shirts and dabble in play materials; junior athletes measure their skills against electronic adversaries. From beating joyfully on an orchestra of frying pans to roaming towers and ramps, children are self-entertained for hours. It’s not a baby-sitting arrangement; adults must accompany the kids. But the projects are so interestingly designed, supervision turns out to be no chore. For information, call 619-233-8792. (currently closed for reconstruction till early 2008)
