We give you San Diego's Top Doctors 2009 — a list of excellent physicians chosen by their peers — and profiles of some who go the extra mile to treat the needy
The top doctors are in. All 475 of ’em. Our annual Top Doctors list is compiled by the San Diego County Medical Society, which polls its physician members to find out which doctors they would recommend to their own family members and patients. (For a full look inside the process, see SDCMS president Lisa Miller’s letter on The List page.)
In addition to the Top Doctors list, we feature senior editor Julia Beeson Polloreno’s story on two local cosmetic surgeons’ pro bono reconstructive work on needy kids living on both sides of our southern border. And writer Bob Rowland profiles a Marine whose disfigured face was skillfully restored by craniofacial specialist Dr. Munish Batra and his team of DOCS (Doctors Offering Charitable Services).
