Here There Be Monsters
Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure takes a dive back in time to solve a mystery 82 million years old, as paleontologists share the screen with photorealistic computer animation depicting ocean life in the Late Cretaceous era. Fifty of San Diego’s top chefs team up throughout October for the 12th annual Chef Celebration Dinner Series, hosted by select restaurants around the county. Each Tuesday, local chefs——Bernard Guillas, Jeffrey Strauss, Deborah Scott, Brian Malarkey and Gavin Kaysen among them——gather in one kitchen and cook up five different five-course meals to raise funds for the Chef Celebration culinary scholarship program. An Eye for Fashion
Joseph Bellows Gallery in La Jolla presents an exhibition of fashion photography by Lillian Bassman, whose experimental and romantic images were seen in the pages of Harper’s Bazaar in the 1950s and ’60s.
