Beginning Nov. 1, the San Diego Natural History Museum presents works by one of the world’s premier wildlife artists in “The Art of Robert Bateman.” More than 50 of Bateman’s wildlife depictions, acclaimed for their detailed realism, are on display through Jan. 31. The collection, on loan from various public and private institutions, reflects the artist’s commitment to ecology and preservation, as well as his ability to capture the intricate detail and drama of the natural world. His work is housed in several art museums, including the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Bateman will lecture and sign books at the museum on Nov. 17 at 6:30.
