Scripps Health

Scripps Health is a $1.7 billion, nonprofit healthcare system based in San Diego. Scripps treats nearly 500,000 patients annually through its dedicated staff of more than 2,600 affiliated physicians and 11,000 employees across five acute-care hospital campuses, home healthcare services and an ambulatory care network of clinics, physician offices and outpatient centers.

Recognized as a leader in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, Scripps is also at the forefront of clinical research and graduate medical education. The Scripps legacy of healthcare originated in 1924, when philanthropist Ellen Browning Scripps founded Scripps Memorial Hospital and Scripps Metabolic Clinic in La Jolla. Scripps Cancer Center unites clinicians, scientists and healthcare professionals from throughout the Scripps system to create a powerful cancer resource in San Diego County. There are more than 500 clinical research trials under way across the Scripps system—with 100 new clinical trials added each year—helping to drive healthcare advances.
