Symphonic Swan Song
The Philadelphia Orchestra, one of the nation’s top musical institutions, has been having some, uh, issues with its conductor, Christoph Eschenbach. Or is it the other way around? Anyhow, he’s O-U-T, and Charles Dutoit is in as the PO’s permanent leader, come this September. Hear Eschenbach’s swan song in Copley Symphony Hall, Thursday, May 24, at 8, when the Philadelphia Orchestra’s national tour touches down locally, courtesy of the La Jolla Music Society.
