The 2008 Jewel Ball raised a record-breaking $1,215,258, which was divvied up and distributed to local charities at a luncheon held at the La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club. Las Patronas president Lydia McNeil welcomed attendees and introduced the 2008 Jewel Ball chair, Caroline Nierenberg, and cochairs Jennifer Greenfield and Tracy Lyon, who presented the checks to the 14 major beneficiaries.
