FREE Event Teaches Families about Health & Fitness Through Hands-On Activities, Sports Stations and Cooking Demonstrations!

We all know that healthy eating and fitness can be confusing and takes dedication. It is hard enough to be healthy as adults, so imagine trying to navigate the world of calories and nutritional labels as a child.

The Junior League of San Diego (JLSD) is taking action to show San Diego children and families that healthy living can be easy and does not have to cost a lot of money. JLSD is hosting Kids in the Kitchen, a health and fitness fair designed to teach children and families the importance of good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle through interactive, hands-on activities and demonstrations.

Kids in the Kitchen will feature hands on cooking demonstrations with local chefs to show families how quick and easy healthy cooking can be – and to taste the delicious outcome! Toby Wells YMCA fitness experts will host fitness stations to get children moving with soccer, gymnastics, dance and yoga. There will also be a host of other interactive learning stations on a variety of healthy topics – reading a nutrition label, healthy snack choices, the importance of drinking water, and much more.

Kids in the Kitchen will be held on Saturday, March 28 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Toby Wells YMCA in Kearny Mesa. This event is FREE and open to the public! Families with children under age 10 are encouraged to attend. Giveaways are guaranteed for the first 500 attendees. There will also be raffle drawings throughout the day to win amazing prizes.

Visit www.jlsd.org for more information.
