Main Idea

Mainly Mozart celebrated its 20th anniversary—and the 252nd birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart—with a black-tie gala at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine. Alexandra Pearson was event chair; Arlene Esgate was vice chair. The evening featured a cocktail reception, hors d’oeuvre stations, silent auction and a concert by the Mainly Mozart string quartet. Designers Joni Alpert, Katherine Ward, Brindan Byrne and Sally Thornton welcomed patrons at the dinner tables they decorated. The event raised funds for Mainly Mozart’s educational outreach programs and the 2008 festival, to be held in June at the renovated Balboa Theatre.
