Princess and Pirouette

Step into an enchanted garden inhabited by dancing ladybugs and bumblebees, tutu-clad fairies and a magical carriage. The San Diego Civic Youth Ballet performs Cinderella Mar. 23–Apr.l 1, starring 18-year-old Alyssa Weckel and dancers as young as 5. This humorous adaptation of Frederick Ashton’s famous ballet features the traditional score by Prokoviev and professionally designed sets and costumes. Director and principal choreographer Danika Pramik-Holdaway transforms the talented teens and tykes into wickedly funny stepsisters, a mysterious fairy godmother, a charming prince and a poor girl in search of her glass slipper.
