Taste of Success

Sixty-five of San Diego’s best chefs served more than 500 patrons of Mama’s Day 2009, “Taste the Joy of Caring,” benefitting Mama’s Kitchen, a nonprofit that prepares and delivers free meals to San Diegans affected by critical illnesses. Sam “The Cooking Guy” Zien was culinary host; Vic Salazar emceed. Top Chef vets Brian Malarkey and Richard Sweeney also lent their star power to the cause. The 18th edition raised some $140,000 for Mama’s Kitchen.
