CLIENTS COME TO CERISSA MCPARTLIN with ideas. She then transforms these ideas into a unique vision, executed and managed seamlessly with impeccable service and exquisite taste.

Her business, Pomegranate Event Planning, is an all-inclusive event planning company specializing in corporate events and couture weddings. “We combine classic tradition with modern design, tailoring each event to fulfill the specific needs of our clients,” says McPartlin. Pomegranate handles all the details of each affair, including staffing, catering, flowers, unique rentals, décor, entertainment and venue consulting.

In addition to event planning, Pomegranate also acts as a corporate concierge for companies coming to San Diego for conventions.

For corporate clients, McPartlin understands that they are not only creating an event but helping to brand a corporate image. One of her recent events for RBC Capital was held at the exclusive Sony Dugout Lounge in Petco Park. “We flew in Reggie Jackson to sign baseballs, we created bats with the company logo, and we had the company logo projected on the outside of Petco Park,” she recalls.

Pomegranate takes similar care in designing weddings, crafting an elegant atmosphere through meticulous details like custom-made bridesmaids’ dresses of Japanese silk and silver beaded napkin holders. “Everything is individually designed and customized to create a very couture event,” says McPartlin.

By collaborating with the finest artists, designers, chefs and florists in San Diego, Pomegranate is able to take design concepts to the next level by boldly breaking convention. “We inspire one another with our fresh and innovative ideas to make each event a sensory experience,” says McPartlin, “from signature cocktails, to lighting, to the candle aromas, to the textures of the linens and furniture, to the downbeat.”

Perhaps most important, McPartlin gives her clients peace of mind. “They are guaranteed a certain elegance with each event that creates a lasting impression on their guests,” says McPartlin. This attention to detail earned Pomegranate the prestigious 2006 Platinum Award for the Best Catering Company in San Diego.

However, despite all her recent success, McPartlin has not lost sight of her most important accomplishment: her 1-year-old son, Maximus James.
