San Diego Style
Whether you need a quick mani/pedi, a day of relaxation, a skin issue solved or just a beach-bound waxing, these day spas are worth checking out
The Undercarriage
With bikini season in full effect, this hip, under-the-radar spa should be on your speed dial. Whether you opt for a Chai Soy Back Facial (where the dreaded back acne is forced to skedaddle) or choose one of their best-selling, fuzz-busting services (we like the Classy Chassis), you’ll walk away beach-ready. Nestled between Hillcrest and Bankers Hill, this quirky space also boasts men’s services ——and will host private spa parties.
Hidden Spa
As organic produce continues to sweep the nation, with beauty products following form, it’s no surprise the geniuses at this tucked-away Ocean Beach spa have created the Organic Facial. You tailor the service to your skin needs (acne-fighting, moisture-building and so on) and watch as the ingredients are prepared for your face. Consider it a Jamba Juice for your skin.
Zen Sanctuary
An Asian-inspired mecca of relaxation in the heart of Kensington, this spa is perfect for rebalancing your chi, tapping your third eye or simply getting an ahhh-inducing massage. We’re fans of the ZENThai Table Massage: A 115-minute recharge of your mind and body, this involves a lime cleanse, customized yoga poses, deep reflexology and a series of deep-breathing exercises that will have you feeling completely rejuvenated.
Adriana Skincare
There are so many things to love about this downtown spa: the quaint, country aesthetic; the expert, raved-about waxing services; and the fine-tuned custom facials. But our favorite thing about this skinsaving parlor is that you can opt——with some services——for an express treatment. You get the same level of complexion perfection in under 45 minutes and for a fraction of the price.
Lounge Esthetique
This lounge-inspired day spa takes a swanky approach to skincare. From the loft-style, brick-and-beams aesthetic to the attention to customer service (we love the complimentary organic foot soak on arrival), this East Village boutique spa is spot-on. Try the classic European facial, a highly customized treatment that includes skin analysis, steam, deep-pore cleansing, exfoliation, toning and a hydrating mask. A hand, foot and scalp massage is a pampering perk.

I received a gift certificate for Adriana Skin Care. When I went in I was rushed through my facial and received the worst customer service ever. I won't be back !I loved the undercarriage they are the best brazilian waxers ever. Very profesional!
I've been seeing Adriana at Adriana Skin Care for almost 5 years. What I love best about Adriana is her attention to detail. She is very patient and attends to all my skincare needs, whether I am having a bad breakout or to help me prevent the signs of aging. Her waxing is by far, amazing. She uses the best products out there to eliminate any pain or burning from the wax. Her location is awesome and the ambiance is phenomenal. Just Google Adriana Skin Care or go to Yelp and see how many amazing reviews they have!
