Pack your earplugs and practice your “Oorah!” for the Miramar Air Show, which celebrates 100 years of the Marine Corps Reserve September 23–25. The all-day demo of aerobatic stunts features the Breitling Jet Team, whose seven black-and-silver jets slip the surly bonds of earth for loops, barrel rolls, and other stunts. More highlights include a pyrotechnic bombing run and troop deployment by the Marine Air-Ground Task Force, a plane whose vertical takeoff and landing seem straight out of sci-fi, and a zero-gravity parabolic dive flown by the Blue Angels’ first female pilot: Captain Katie Higgins, who joined the team after serving hundreds of combat hours overseas. Here come the jets—little world, step aside.
