The Del Mar Racetrack welcomed the largest crowd in opening-day history (44,907), besting last year’s count by nearly 1,500. Floating among all those hats were The Hills’ Audrina Patridge, actor Wilmer Valderrama (That 70s Show), dethroned Miss California U.S.A. Carrie Prejean, actress Bo Derek, the Chargers’ Kassim Osgood, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rogers and retired NBA star and reality-TV vet John Salley (I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here).
