On September 25, San Diego Magazine hosted more than 600 of the city’s most inspiring female leaders, movers and shakers, and entrepreneurs for Celebrating Women at the iconic Westgate Hotel. The sold-out event featured a keynote speech by Janice Brown, networking, live music by Rebecca Jade and DJ Carlos Supreme, pop-up shops, food and drinks from Westgate Hotel, samples from various distilleries, wineries and breweries. The event honored five local female powerhouses across various industries and was given awards in the following categories: Women of the Year, Industry Leader, Military Service, Nonprofit Visionary, and Rising Star. Below is the list of winners:

  • Women of the Year – Julie Ann Darling, United States Navy
  • Industry Leader – Aliza Carpio, Intuit
  • Military Service – Arcolia Rains, United States Navy
  • Nonprofit Visionary – Stephanie Ortega, Promise2Kids
  • Rising Star – Claudia Mowery, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc.
