At Mister A’s, the landmark Bankers Hill rooftop restaurant that looks out onto downtown and the bay, pastry chef Amy Simpson puts seasonal spins on the pavlova. For fall, the dish starts with a meringue base spiced with cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg, and is served with honey-roasted pear, milk chocolate bourbon caramel, and an Earl Grey–infused cream. San Diego’s weather may not inspire fall vibes, but this dessert couldn’t be more autumn appropriate.
