November 3:

Immerse yourself in the diversity and talent of Asian American media during the seventeenth annual San Diego Asian Film Festival hosted by the Pacific Arts Movement (through November 12).

Change the world through cinema when the Save the Waves Film Festival, an international film tour and fundraiser for ocean conservation, makes its San Diego stop at Bird’s Surf Shed.

November 4:

Cheers to craft beer during San Diego Beer Week, kicking off with the two-day Guild Fest on Broadway Pier and culminating with The Beer Garden at the Lodge at Torrey Pines (through November 13).

November 5:

Feast on traditional Mexican and Latin American fare at the Escondido Tamale Festival at Grape Day Park.

Kick off the holiday season with classic family fun during Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! at The Old Globe (through December 26).

November 6:

Learn about the Gaslamp Quarter’s colorful history during the Fall Back Festival and Historic Children’s Street Faire, a family-friendly event where kids can learn gold mining, blacksmithing, and other throwback trades.

Jump-start your holiday shopping at the Carlsbad Fall Village Faire.

November 11:

Join San Diego Opera in honoring the military with Veterans Day weekend performances of Soldier Songs at Balboa Theatre.

Pay homage to old Hollywood through horse racing as Del Mar kicks off the Bing Crosby Season (through December 4).

November 14:

Immerse yourself in a week’s worth of indulgences at the San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival, featuring celebrity chef experiences, wine dinners, and culinary classes, culminating in the Grand Tasting.

November 17:

Laugh out loud with Monty Python creators John Cleese and Eric Idle during their two-man show, Together Again at Last…for the Very First Time, at Balboa Theatre.

Add some pizazz to your Thursday night with the Jazz Supper Club at Cusp in La Jolla Shores.

November 20:

Take in a San Diego Thanksgiving Week tradition at the 70th annual Mother Goose Parade in El Cajon.

November 23:

Put some swing into your Thanksgiving weekend at the 27th annual San Diego Jazz Fest and Swing Extravaganza at the Town & Country Hotel.

Venture to the animated world of Avatar with Cirque du Soleil’s Toruk: The First Flight at Valley View Casino Center (both through November 27).

November 24:

Leave the cooking to the pros and give thanks to Little Italy’s Café Gratitude, which is serving a free Thanksgiving meal on a first-come, first-served basis.

November 26:

Toast to the Del Mar Craft Beer and Cider Fest at the Del Mar racetrack.

Shop local (with discounts!) at boutiques like Azzurra Capri and Little Apple during Little Italy’s Small Business Saturday.

Hang ten and ring in the holiday spirit with the Surfin’ Santa Celebration at Seaport Village.

November 29:

Settle in for a rock musical when Hedwig and the Angry Inch makes its San Diego debut at the Civic Theatre (through December 4).
