Downtown San Diego gets treated to a rare surf-film premiere as Pipeline master Jamie O’Brien takes his new Reb Bull-sponsored film, Who Is J.O.B., to Hotel Solamar on Tuesday November 16. Mission Beach’s Wave House will host an all-ages premiere two nights earlier, November 14.
The 27-year-old North Shore, Hawaii, native is a 2004 Pipeline Masters champion. He grew up with a view of the wave from his home, which explains how naturally comfortable he looks both in the barrel and in the air.
He’s the kind of surfer who says “Waves look better with me on them.” Brash — but fair, in the evidence of the movie trailer below. (Watch him discuss his favorite clips with Surfline here)
Who Is J.O.B. premieres Sunday, November 14 at 7:30 p.m. (autograph session at 6:30) at the Wave House in Mission Beach, 3125 Ocean Front Walk, and Tuesday, November 16 at 8 p.m. (autograph session at 6:30) at Hotel Solamar downtown, 435 Sixth Avenue.
