KPBS and Union Bank of California presented the 2008 Hispanic Heritage Month Local Hero Awards at the KPBS Copley Telecommunications Center. Honorees included Maria Chavez (education), Carmen and Henry Delgadillo (social service), Evelyn Diaz Cruz (arts), Mery López-Gallo (community activism) and Lidia Martinez (business).
