Dispatch from Dallas
The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego drew inspiration from ’80s-style Texas decadence (think Dallas’ oil tycoons, cattle barons and big-coiffed, lamé-clad divas) for its fund-raising gala, Monte Carlo Does Dallas. The museum’s La Jolla location was transformed into Southfork Ranch, site of the evening’s Lone Star Ball and late-night after-party, dubbed Debbie’s Disco.
Laurie Mitchell and Brent Woods were event chairs. Among guests: Linnea and Frank Arrington, Tanya and Charles Brandes, David C. Copley, Carolyn P. Farris, Jake and Todd Figi, Joan and Irwin Jacobs, and Maryanne and Irwin Pfister.
