The San Diego Symphony closes out its City Lights music series with a bang when Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award–winner Audra McDonald stages a two-hour serenade of her hits for An Evening with Audra McDonald on May 24. McDonald made her Broadway debut with Carousel in the ’90s, followed by Master Class and Ragtime. She became the youngest actress ever to win three Tonys and, today, a record six for best performance. Offstage, she’s been cast in CBS’s The Good Wife spin-off The Good Fight and, on the big screen, lent her operatic chops to Madame Garderobe in Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. This month’s performance marks her first foray with the San Diego Symphony. All we have to say is, “Be our guest.”
