Equinox, the New York–based fitness club turned international chain that set the standard for glossy gyms, has debuted in San Diego with the 30,000-square-foot Equinox La Costa. Along with cardio and strength training machines, the club offers group classes in cardio boxing and yoga taught by local favorites like Andre Houle. For new ways to sweat, try Gold Barre, inspired by figure skater Tara Lipinski, and Pursuit by Equinox (above), a new competitive spin class where bike numbers on a screen glow brighter as spinners up their wattage. Workouts aside, the club also comprises The Spa @Equinox, a kids’ club, a boutique, and a café. Be careful: You might never want to leave.
