LEAD San Diego presented the 2008 San Diego Visionary Awards at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina. Tom Fat was honored in memoriam with the 2008 Morgan Award. Community volunteer Cheryl Kendrick received the LEAD Graduate of the Year Award; Chris Van Gorder received the Ronald Kendrick Regional Stewardship Award.

Other honorees included Dr. Jeffrey Davidow, recipient of the Nathanson Award for Cross-Border Region Building; Leon Williams, honored for community collaboration; and Dr. Ellen Beck, who received the diversity award.
