Anything but Uniform

CHARGERS ROLE MODELS turned straight-up models during a recent fashion show to unveil the team’s new uniforms. The three redesigned unis (which kept the same colors: navy blue jersey for home games, white jersey for away, powder blue jersey for special occasions) feature a bolder, brighter bolt, “stretch dazzle” fabric that allows for greater ease of movement, a new number style and nameplate font and a new Chargers logo. Oh, and powder blue is now an official color——in case there was any confusion.

Says LaDainian Tomlinson: “I think it’s only right to have our own new jerseys and create our own era and identity.” We take a look back at how the Chargers’ uniform——and identity——has evolved since Lance Alworth donned powder blue in the 1960s.
