Las Vegas-based pizzeria Flour & Barley opens in the Headquarters

1.

Pure Project Brewing, a 1,625-square-foot brewhouse and taproom, has debuted in Miramar.

After serving the Gaslamp for 30 years and Bankers Hill since 2014, Croce’s Park West has closed.

3.

New to The Headquarters, Las Vegas–based pizzeria Flour & Barley is set to open this month, with former Searsucker chef JC Colón at the helm.

4.

Paul McCabe, returning to town after three years in Scottsdale, has been named director of food, beverage, and culinary operations at Town and Country Resort & Convention Center in Mission Valley.

5.

Pop Pie Co. will begin serving handheld sweet and savory pies as well as Third Wave coffee to the University Heights crowd this spring.

A more casual spin on Tracy Borkum’s popular Cucina concepts, Cucina Sorella will open this spring in Kensington.

7.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines’s course-side eatery, The Grill, will undergo a $2.5-million renovation before reopening in June.

8.

Sea & Smoke in Del Mar’s Flower Hill Promenade has closed and will be replaced by Flower Child, a fast-casual healthy concept, slated to open later this year.

9.

Thorn St. Brewery is expanding to a second location in Barrio Logan next year. Dubbed Thorn Brewing Company, the new facility will be dedicated to greater brew production, with a 30-barrel system.

10.

Fresh off the purchase of Rancho Santa Fe’s Delicias, ex-Loews and El Bizcocho chef Patrick Ponsaty has his own restaurant in the works.
