Sky Full of Spring

Published:

Nanci Cotton’s wildflower photo Botanical Sunshine may have received runner-up honors in last year’s Mission Trails Regional Park photo contest, but we’re calling it a winning portrait of East County’s blooming parklands. The park’s 2011 contest (the 19th annual) kicks off March 1, and all photos submitted must be taken within the 5,800 acres of Mission Trails Regional Park, including Lake Murray, Cowles Mountain and the Kumeyaay Lake area. Judging is divided into black-and-white, color and youth categories, as well as a People’s Choice prize. Visit mtrp.org to submit your photo by April 16.
