San Diego Opera opened its 2009 season with a gala performance of Tosca at the Civic Theatre and “Pallazzo Promenade,” a black-tie reception and dinner at the U.S. Grant Hotel. The event was chaired by the Dow Divas. Patrons included Mayor Jerry Sanders and wife Rana Sampson, Iris and Matthew Strauss, Karen and Don Cohn, Katherine Kennedy and Robert Horsman, Teresa and Harry Hixson, Irwin and Joan Jacobs, Lee and Frank Goldberg, Debbie Turner and Conrad Prebys, and Valerie and Harry Cooper.
