We cannot imagine a more delicious setting for learning the secrets of signature margarita making, this month’s theme in an ongoing culinary series at Esperanza Resort in Los Cabos. Using ingredients from the onsite organic herb garden, the head bartender will tutor guests in the fine art of mastering margs. In August, exec chef Gonzalo Cerda will demonstrate how to make a local clam and oyster ceviche, while September brings lessons in seafood paella. We’ll start saving our appetites now.

SHOPPING TRIP

Art + Fashion + Furniture

In the former Howard Hughes building in West Hollywood, Just One Eye is a hybrid museum-boutique-showroom for high fashion and fine art—a one-stop shop. Find Proenza Schouler designs and Rodarte threads alongside works by Damien Hirst and Takashi Murakami. Go for a museum-viewing experience, but if you fancy an item to purchase, just be sure to put both eyes on the price tag. 7000 Romaine Street, Los Angeles, justoneeye.com

"There was a fête—a grand fête in honor of some saint who had been instrumental in checking the cholera 300 years ago, and all Venice was abroad on the water. It was no common affair, for the Venetians did not know how soon they might need the saint’s services again…."
