Couple’s Retreat
A Del Mar duo furniture shops in Thailand
Four weeks after Trent Kososki and Jennifer Mullins met, they hopped an 18-hour flight bound for Bangkok. The goal? Furniture shopping in Chiang Mai, where they picked out rare pieces for Trent’s new house in Del Mar, which would soon become the home the newly engaged couple shares together. Here’s to true love—and a great accent table!

Just in time for racing season, the owners of this Del Mar house spruced up their deck with rare and exotic furnishings. Who needs the grandstands with a bella vista like this? The property overlooks the racetrack, and is perched high on a hill, nestled among the Torrey Pines, with sweeping views of the the Pacific. Built in 1950, the residence was the first on its street, and the original owner paved the private road that leads to its driveway. Besides the view, the house is also noteworthy for its collection of imported furniture, including these custom-made bamboo lounge chairs and side tables from Thailand. Virtually every piece is one of a kind and tells a story, which makes the space almost as unique as the young couple that lives there. // Mina Riazi
