January 29:

Music icon Sir Elton John stops by Valley View Casino Center on his sold-out Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.

Actress Isabella Rossellini presents her new show Link Link Circus, about animals’ thoughts and communication, at Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center.

Brazilian music icon Sergio Mendes brings his bossa nova pop sound to the Belly Up Tavern.

January 30:

Beijing Dance Theater presents contemporary choreography rooted in Chinese traditions at Mandeville Auditorium.

January 31:

Diversionary Theatre’s The Hour of Great Mercy follows a gay Jesuit priest’s departure from the church to make amends with his estranged brother (through 3/3).

The San Diego Black Film Festival returns with a program spotlighting African-American cinema, with a program of over 100 films ranging from comedy to documentary and horror (through 2/3).

February 1:

Score half-price admission to more than 40 museums across the county during Macy’s Museum Month.

The First Friday Night Market on El Cajon Blvd. will take place at Anthem Vegan, with a selection of vegan food, beer, goods and a DJ.

February 2:

San Diego Opera presents Rigoletto, a powerful story involving corruption, seduction, and a vengeful curse, at the Civic Theatre (through 2/10).
