Event Information

This event honors dynamic local women who work tirelessly to effect positive change and enhance the community. San Diego Magazine names the Woman of the Year and celebrates the entire list of nominees, as published in the September issue.

Westin Gaslamp
910 Broadway Circle, San Diego
September 24, 2013

This Event is now sold out. If you are a finalist and you haven’t purchased your ticket yet, please contact Adriana Novelo at adrianan@sandiegomagazine.com.

Awards for 5 honorees and one Woman of the Year will be announced on September 24.

We are also honored to be able to present a Leadership Award to Debra Reed, CEO of Sempra. Sempra is one of two Fortune 500 companies in San Diego. And for the first time, we will also be presenting a Community Service Award, recognizing Linda Katz for her dedication and service to San Diego.

San Diego Magazine would like to extend a thank you to its judging panel. These women will serve as the judging panel to determine the 2013 Woman of the Year and 5 honorees. The judges will base criteria on work that is done above and beyond the nominee’s normal employment responsibilities. Included in the criteria for Woman of the Year, we also require:

  • 3 or more full-time employees
  • Business in existence 5+ years
  • Commitment to charitable organizations
  • Paid based position

The Women Who Move the City judging panel includes the past 5 Woman of the Year award recipients:

  • 2012 Susan Salka, AMN Healthcare
  • 2011 Kathleen Selick, Rady’s Childrens Hospital
  • 2010 Theresa Drew, Deloitte
  • 2009 Amanda Clardy, Life Technologies
  • 2008 Sharon Lawrence, Voices for Children

The judging panel can’t be nominated again but they can have people within their organization nominated.
