Leucadia This Month:

Revival Brunch with live music, Sundays, Priority Public House

Farmers’ market, Sundays

Leucadia Donut Shoppe

Gluten-tolerant sugar fans have been worshipping this humble shop since it opened more than 20 years ago. No crazy flavors here; they stick to the glazed, sprinkled, and chocolate-covered classics.

Seaweed and Gravel

The vibe is vintage and gearhead-chic. You’ll find men’s and women’s apparel, natural grooming products, and color-splashed surfboards. They also build custom motorcycles. seaweedandgravel

Mozy Cafe

Mozy Cafe

Mozy feels downright tropical with its acai (or pitaya) bowls, healthy burritos, smoothies, and organic wellness shots. The plant-filled lanai is the best seat in the house.MozyCafe

Beacon’s Beach

From the small parking lot on Neptune Avenue between Jasper Street and Leucadia Boulevard, walk a short trail of switchbacks down the bluffs to this state park. It’s a magnet for surfers, but with such a large stretch of sand, you’ll see plenty of sunbathers, too.

Kai Ola Sushi

The decor is casual but the food is anything but. Head chef Lane Manriki previously launched Oceanside’s Kaisen Sushi, while the sous chef has worked under Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto. Beyond sushi, the menu includes poke bowls, noodles, and teriyaki plates. kai.ola

Coffee Coffee

It’s technically called Cafe Ipe, but the longtime favorite next to Surfy Surfy is better known by its double moniker. They serve Revolution Roasters coffee, plus breakfast, sandwiches, and salads. Take your treats to their leafy patio to enjoy among regulars, kids, and four-legged friends. coffee_coffee_leucadia

Moto Deli

Moto Deli

Get gourmet sandwiches at this indoor-outdoor eatery. Look for a spicy chicken ’wich with kimchi, poached yellowtail with avocado, and the popular turketta, a smoked turkey breast with bacon and white cheddar. They recently added dinner service, and, even better, a beer and wine list. moto_deli
