Fitbit debuts a series of San Diego–specific outdoor workouts

San Diego is the ideal locale for yoga, hiking, and beach boot camps. That’s the thought behind Fitbit’s free monthly fitness series, Fitbit Local. The fitness brand, known for its function-meets-fashion activity tracker bracelets, launched the free workouts here last November with sweat sessions tailored to the host city. For San Diego, the first event featured boot camp and yoga at Waterfront Park, and last month, participants took a coastal hike through Torrey Pines.

On February 6, workout buffs can run along the waterfront before scoping out healthy eats at the Little Italy Mercato Farmers’ Market. (Because if you work out and no one is around to see you in your Lululemon after the fact, did you actually work out?) Each event, which includes a chance to win a free Fitbit tracker, aims to incorporate local landmarks and is led by at least one local fitness expert, better known as a Fitbit Ambassador. The program has since expanded to San Francisco and is expected to launch in more cities this year. Now step to it!
