Applause

Taking Wing

After multiple triumphs last year —a deliciously dark Sweeney Todd, the Norman Conquests trilogy and a fifth year-ending Wonderful Life — Old Town’s Cygnet Theatre aims high again, with the premiere of The Tragedy of the Commons. Artistic director Sean Murray says Stephen Metcalfe’s moving script, set in La Jolla, is perfect for local audiences, which already had a taste in 2009 with a staged reading at Cygnet. Through Feb. 20 (cygnettheatre.com).
