| Description |
The Canine Companions for Independence Graduation Ceremony is an emotional and inspiring event in which people with disabilities receive their new, highly-trained assistance dogs. These dogs, which are provided free of charge to the graduates, have been in training for two years and know up to 50 commands to help with everyday practical tasks. Graduation follows an intensive, two-week, residential Team Training course with these new human/canine partners at the Canine Companions Southwest Regional Facility in Oceanside. Graduation is open to the public and admission is free. |
