Nectarine Grove has opened on the 101 in Leucadia with an extensive menu of paleo-friendly, gluten-free, and vegan dishes, including acai bowls, tacos, sandwiches, salads, and even coffee made with grass-fed butter.

Oceanside’s 608 has closed. Chef William Eick is now working the kitchen at Mission Avenue Bar & Grill.

Croissants, macarons, and other pastries are the focus at Patisserie Melanie, a new Hillcrest bakery.

Get your TKO tacos and swordfish sandwiches: Point Loma Fish Shop, from the owners behind Fish Shop outposts in Encinitas and Pacific Beach, is now open.

The Wine Pub in Point Loma has added twice-monthly pasta classes to their schedule, with sessions on making penne, gnocchi, and more from scratch.

North Park’s Communal Coffee has debuted a second location. The new South Park café is a vintage trailer turned espresso bar with outdoor seating, plus music and movie-night events.

Buona Forchetta has joined the lineup of local vendors at Petco Park, serving their signature Neapolitan pizzas whole or by the slice, along with thicker Roman-style slices.

Look for gourmet tacos and over 175 varieties of agave spirits at the new Volcano Rabbit, a Gaslamp bar and lounge from the team behind Rustic Root.

Asian bakery chain 85°C has opened a new location in Point Loma. A Westfield UTC location is due this fall.

Herb & Wood—Brian Malarkey’s sprawling Little Italy restaurant that focuses on small plates with a wood-fired touch—will open an Encinitas location next year called Herb & Sea.
