OUR COMPANY
San Diego Magazine has been in the market since 1948. We are a monthly publication providing San Diegans with compelling editorial coverage of current issues, culture, dining, entertainment, business, health, style, dining, people and nightlife. Located on Broadway in thriving downtown San Diego, we are an integral part of the community and partner with local nonprofits and businesses throughout San Diego. San Diego Magazine also publishes a bi-annual wedding publication, Exquisite Weddings.
Web Internship
The web interns work closely with the Director of Digital Media and Design and Digital Media Sales Manager assisting with a variety of projects associated with our Advertising, Marketing and Edit departments. You will focus on the website product and digital marketing materials and advertising as part of our business. This position is ideal for students interested in pursuing a career in front-end web design, publishing, digital marketing, and digital advertising. The internship would start in January 2012 or earlier, depending on availability.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with daily maintenance of website.
- Assist with design and development of digital banner ads.
- Assist in development and sending of marketing and house email blasts in HTML/CSS.
- Work with Edit/Marketing to publish issue and blog content to SanDiegoMagazine.com and ExquisiteWeddingsMagazine.com
- Assist in digital local market research.
- Research trends and traffic in Google Analytics.
REQUIREMENTS
- This is an unpaid internship; student must be able to receive school credit through their university.
- Knowledge of XHTML/CSS, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
- Detail-oriented, organizational skills a must.
- Must be organized, responsible, flexible and a good team player.

Please note: San Diego Magazine offers internships to students who can receive school credit for the internship through their university. Hours and duration of the internship are dictated by college/university requirements. We prefer students work a minimum of 4 hours per day, 2 - 3 days a week to ensure ample time to learn from projects assigned.
