Tasting notes, fast facts, and expert reviews on every brewery in the San Diego region

One of North County’s newer breweries, Dos Desperados, officially opened their doors in March of 2014. Owner/Brewer Steve Munson decided to forsake a retirement of golf courses and bridge tournaments in order to dive headlong into his passion for brewing. He and his wife, Dora (the other desperado) have made that dream a reality.
The Munsons have done a nice job of transforming a bland office park unit into a comfortable, welcoming space. Old West themed items adorn the walls and a large, comfortable bar dominates the room.
Brewer Steve has created a beer lineup that includes more challenging styles, many of which aren’t typical in a small start-up operation. His list includes a Trippel, a Scottish Ale, as well as a few variations of IPA. His sense of restraint when it comes to spicy pepper beers is of particular note; his habanero IPA and his habanero Scottish Ale being among his best.
