Be Beauty: Girly Heaven
Shopping, spa, and now tea in Little Italy
Located in Littly Italy, in a house built in the 1920’s, Be Beauty owners Tara Manna-Beatty and JuJu Rodrigues have created a one-of-a-kind spa, shopping, and tea-sampling estrogen escape—nothing about this place is anything but pure girly heaven.
With a full clothing boutique up front and two treatment rooms in the back offering facials, massages, waxing, and mani’s/pedi’s, Be Beauty is now introducing tea as their next big endeavor. Using the garden patio and carriage house that was once home to the Che Bella flower shop, the owners are bringing in local South Park tea company Halcyon and their finely curated teas from around the world.
Be Beauty’s owners are committed to health and how it relates to beauty, and for them, tea is the best way of conveying that idea. From the social component to its intrinsic health properties, tea is the healthy self-indulgence. The new tea concept will launch and coincide with the boutique’s two-year anniversary with party at Be Beauty on 1/29/11 from 6-9pm. Open to the public, interested shoppers/spa-goers can rsvp at: info@bebeautifully.com.
Shoppers may believe that Be Beauty is more spa space than clothing boutique, but they’d be incorrect. There seems to be as much attention put into the clothing and accessories’ lines sold here as the choices in beauty services offered. Be Beauty carries clothing lines like Ark & Co., and Collective; all very trendy, inexpensive and casual dresses and tops. The owners are dedicated to the idea that beauty should be affordable and accessible to everyone. And that extends to the prices of treatments as well, which average from manicures at $18, to custom facials for $90.
Be Beauty has also recently begun using their patio space for what they’re calling Beauty Soirée’s. Opening up the gift store as a bar, the store has a full kitchen, able to accommodate Bridal parties, baby showers, and corporate networking events.
