Posted Wednesday, August 29, 2012, 01:30PM
On Thursday, September 6, Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) will return to San Diego and 500 other cities across the country to highlight Fall fashion and support retail with fashion shows, designer appearances and musical performances. Head over to Fashion Valley Mall and Otay Ranch Town Center for an exciting evening of discounts, freebies and plenty of inspiration for your Fall wardrobe.
Fashion Valley will kick off the night with a fashion show in Center Court at 6:30 PM. Get there early to be one of the lucky 200 to score a swag bag, and stick around to enjoy in-store deejays, cocktail parties, live mannequin modeling, special offers and giveaways from over 30 retailers.
If you’re in the South Bay, The Pavillion at Otay Ranch Town Center will feature a VIP Lounge for fashion shows starting at 6 PM, a Celebrity Accessory Closet, nail and lip bars and exclusive gifts with purchase.
To help steer you in the right direction, here are some of the top trends to keep an eye out for this Fall (styled by Alex Yanez, Style Advisor at Neiman Marcus Fashion Valley):
Borrowed from the boys This is the trend that I am personally most excited about for Fall. There are plenty of ways to feminize a menswear-inspired jacket or oxfords with the right accessories. |
Digital prints Don’t be afraid to mix different prints this season. If you’re print-shy, an easy way to wear this trend is to anchor the print with one base color. |
Mixed greens Mix different hues of green with contrasting fabrics like leather and lace, or sport a flowy green top with a dark leather legging. |
|
Navy is the new neutral Navy is easy to pair with a spectrum of tones and is good for day and evening. Mixing blacks and blues is a great way to start incorporating this color into your closet. |
Statement handbags Forget the practical handbag; a statement bag is a great way to give your wardrobe some unique personality. Don’t be afraid of color or unconventional materials. |
