Walden Family Services raised $115,000 on Apr. 28 at Spring Fete Dinner at Pamplemousse Grille. Proceeds support Walden’s teens and emancipated foster youth programs including the Independent Futures Program and Transitional Housing Program + Foster Care programs that assist pre and post emancipated foster youth transition out of foster care. Jeffrey Strauss and Pamplemousse Grille were the top underwriters. Sponsors included Barney & Barney, CBRE, Dowling & Yahnke and San Diego Business Journal. Jaye Connolly-LaBelle welcomed guests along with Jeffrey Strauss.

Santa Fe Christian Schools hosted its 27th Annual Auction and Gala on Apr. 25 at the Hyatt Aventine in La Jolla. The top live auction item was two tickets to the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao boxing match. The Faithful Servant Award was presented to Skip and Jan Tschantz for their support and volunteerism of the school. Proceeds totaled $700,000 to benefit Santa Fe Christian Schools programs and operations.

Grossmont Hospital Foundation raised $422,000 for Sharp Grossmont Hospital at the 31st Annual Grossmont Hospital Invitational Golf Tournament at Sycuan Resort on Apr. 16. Proceeds will support priority initiatives related to patient services and programs at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, including a new, state-of-the-art Heart and Vascular Center. Title Sponsors included EDCO Disposal Corporation, Plum Healthcare Group and The Ensign Group. Cisco & Nexus IS were Tournament Level sponsors. Eagle sponsors included The Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, Diversified Protection Systems, D.L. Taylor Plumbing and Sodexo Health Care Services.

San Diego Museum of Art’s Art Alive raised a record breaking $1 million this year. The celebration began with a Premiere Dinner on Thursday, Apr. 23 followed by BLOOM BASH on Apr. 24 and viewing of floral exhibitions throughout the weekend. Support for Art Alive was provided by Signature Sponsor Audrey S. Geisel, and Presenting Sponsors Conrad Prebys and Debbie Turner. Art Alive highlights the Museum’s world renowned Permanent Collection and provides critical support for education, outreach programs and special exhibitions.

Las Patronas held a preview event on Apr. 29 at the La Jolla Community Center to unveil the décor for the 69th annual Jewel Ball, “Magnifique.” President Annette Bradbury announced that this year Las Patronas has granted $883,775.49 to San Diego nonprofits, including the 21 beneficiaries recently awarded 2015 Spring Grants.

Center for Community Solutions held its Sixteenth Annual Tea & Tonic event on Apr. 24 at the Grand Del Mar. $210,000 was raised to help end domestic violence and sexual assault. CCS provides intervention, healing, advocacy, and prevention programs and services for individuals affected by domestic violence and sexual assault. Premier Sponsors included Nordstrom, HD Supply Facilities Maintenance and The California Endowment. Don McPherson was the Featured Guest and the Tea was chaired by Cyndi Benson and Terri Kelly.

Meals-on-Wheels Greater San Diego received a $15,000 grant from Meals on Wheels America for its participation in Subaru of America’s seventh annual “Share the Love” event. During the event held from November 20 through January 2, 2015, Subaru of America, will donate $250 for every new Subaru vehicle purchased or leased to the customer’s choice of participating charities, including Meals on Wheels America, of which MOWGSD is a member.

San Diego County Credit Union was the title sponsor for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s 2015 Walk MSSM held on Apr. 19 and 25. The two events raised donations to benefit research, services and programs for people with MS. Staff members from Higgs Fletcher & Mack raised $3,700 during the walk held at Liberty Station.
