Still waiting to meet your soul mate? Perhaps you just haven’t searched enough through the weeds. Well, romantics Lucila De Alejandro and Robin Taylor, who are also owners of Suzie’s Farm and married to each other, decided that maybe searching through the weeds was just what was needed to bring couples together. So, on Sunday, May 15, from 2 to 4 p.m., they’re hosting a Weed Dating event at the farm.
Here’s how it works. From 2:15 to 3:15, you’ll be out in the fields weeding. You’ll be part of a group and have seven minutes to chat up the person next to you before a chime sounds and groups switch places to the next row to chat up those folks. After the weeding, you’ll have time to continue a conversation you started in the field or begin a new conversation with someone you’d like to meet. And you’ll be fortified for all this with salad and pizza from their outdoor pizza oven, plus beer and wine. Finally, you’ll complete a survey letting Lucila and Robin know who you would—or would not—like to hear from. Then, well, who knows? The cost is $25. You can RSVP at the Suzie’s Farm online store.
