Beer of the Week: The Alchemist/Ninkasi/Stone More Brown Than Black IPA
Summon up your charitable side and sip on this brew created to raise money for hurricane victims

Black India Pale Ale (7.4% ABV)
It looks dark brown but pours as green as the Super Galena, Nelson Sauvin, Delta, Citra and Galaxy hops used to give its botanic punch. The first sip simultaneously brings on vibrant piney hop resins and the light roast of a traditional English porter. Seconds in, the latter drops out leaving plenty of hop bitterness in its wake. Local hopheads are bound to love this brew, but anyone can get behind a beer created to raise money for hurricane victims. Proceeds from the sale of this beer go to a charitable organization established to help victims of Hurricane Irene, a scourge that decimated numerous structures and lives in Vermont, including the The Alchemist Pub and Brewery, an avant garde operation whose head brewer, John Kimmich, contributed his talents to this collaborative quaff. Pick up this mostly brown IPA to help get The Alchemist back in the black.
Available at: In bottles at an affordable price at BevMo and on tap at various local bars and restaurants.
