Beer of the Week: October 11
Neighborhood 5th Anniversary Blends
Posted Friday, October 12, 2012, 10:34AM

Brewers at Ballast Point Brewing & Spirits and Stone Brewing Company are used to conspiring with brewers from different companies to create collaboration beers that fuse individual techniques into something truly special. Recently, brewers at each company participated in a different type of collaboration when personnel from East Village beer-centric gastropub Neighborhood and its on-site speakeasy Noble Experiment paid visits to their facilities to develop unique blends of some of their most special beers. Ever wonder what a porter tastes like intermingled with an IPA? Find out with Black Scorpion, a blend of Ballast Point’s Black Marlin Porter and Sculpin IPA. Or get a sip of blending most bold with Belong to Where You’re From, an ambitious blend of Stone 16th Anniversary IPA, 2011 Stone Old Guardian BELGO Barleywine, Stone Pale Ale, Stone Levitation Ale, Stone Cali-Belgique IPA, Dogfish Head/Victory/Stone Saison du BUFF, fresh ginger and orange peel.

These one-of-a-kind, otherworldly blends were conceived specifically for a street festival celebrating Neighborhood’s first five years in business. That event will take place on October 20 from 1 to 6 p.m. on 8th Avenue between G Street and Market Street.
