Where and when to catch San Diego's concerts, parades, and fireworks

Parades and Celebrations

Get an early start with Coronado’s annual 5K or 15K run/walk, or join later for a panoply of patriotic festivities, including a parade and concert in Spreckels Park. Fireworks will light up Glorietta Bay at 9:00 p.m.

7:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

Family-friendly LEGOLAND California will feature a variety of all-American picnic games and a fireworks display set to patriotic music.

Fireworks at 8:30 p.m.

Kick off the holiday celebrations one week early with the Oceanside Independence Parade on June 27th.

North Coast Hwy 101 from Wisconsin Ave to Civic Center Drive

6:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.

Celebrate the early days of San Diego at Old Town State Historic Park. With a parade, crafts, and other activities, the event is kid-friendly.

No fireworks.

10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Start a morning of pie-eating contests at the San Diego County Fair with a patriotic opening ceremony. Later, celebrate the lives of special San Diegans at the Hometown Heroes Parade. Cap the night off with a concert by Navy Band Southwest and Dana Carvey, and the largest fireworks display in Southern California.

Concert is free with admission to the Del Mar Fairgrounds.

9:30 a.m.-9:00 p.m.

Fireworks

The annual Big Bay Boom launches fireworks from four barges and can be seen from multiple locations along San Diego Bay, including Harbor Island, Shelter Island, the Embarcadero area, and the Seaport Village/Coronado landing.

9:00 p.m

Visit the La Jolla Cove fireworks event for a patriotic celebration with a scenic background.

Ellen Browning Scripps Park

9:00 p.m.

Fireworks launched from the Ocean Beach pier are the ideal way to cap off a day of beach-going and celebration with family and friends.

9:00 p.m.

After a day of marine animal fun, stick around to watch SeaWorld San Diego’s Sea to Shining Sea fireworks display.

10:30 p.m.

Eat & Drink

Recently opened University Heights bar and restaurant Park & Rec will host a 4th of July BBQ featuring grill-maters from BBQ 81. Stop by for tri-tip, baby back ribs, classic burgers and hotdogs, and three music acts—Amerikan Bear, The Bedbreakers, DJ Jeremiah BZ with LIVE Keys.

12:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m.

Dress up as Uncle Sam, join the San Diego Gaslamp Independence Pub Crawl, and drink your way through deals at four hot downtown bars.

July 3rd 8:00 p.m.

For unbeatable waterfront firework viewing, barbeque, and live music in the South Bay, celebrate the holiday at Sea 180 Coastal Tavern. Two packages offer special prices for dinner and drinks.

Oscar and Emmy Award-winning conductor Bill Conti will lead the Star Spangled Pops in a San Diego Symphony concert of all-American hits, followed by a military tribute and a fireworks display.
