My husband and I are always looking for a good place to eat with a nice view- bingo! I was so glad to see this shot by local photographer Sam Wells come through my inbox. He captured this patio, the sunset, and the nearby ocean breeze perfectly. Make me a reservation, please! See more photos of the restaurant and their delicious looking Paducah punch cocktail here.

San Diego Map

I love graphic design, and seeing all the local neighborhood and city maps that are popping up from designers.  This colorful design by Hi Sweetheart caught my attention and stood out from the collection, I love it! Get mappy with these other prints here.

All of the photos sent in of this show were “wow-ie”, it was hard to choose just one to feature in the magazine (I actually put in two photos if you look closely!). If their photo selection was just a sampling of what they show off, this show is definitely a must in my books for this fall’s to-do list for those who love live art. See our full fall arts preview here.

4. Dressed up in Downtown

I would have never paired these clothing items together on my own, but stylist Kristi Brooks had the vision and it was my favorite fashion look of all in our Fall Fashion feature. I love the black and white styling and the modern angles of the Central Library architecture and downtown cityscape peaking through the windows. See more of our fall fashion picks here from our photoshoot at the new San Diego Central Library.

5. Suspension Bridge at Spruce Street

Spruce Street Suspension bridge

Local photographer Corey Jenkins hiked, jumped through bushes, climbed poles to capture just the perfect shot of the suspension bridge in Bankers Hills. His hard work paid off…I love the lighting and framing of this photo that shows the lush setting around the bridge. I hope this photos inspires other San Diegans to get outside, walk the bridge and add to the “love locks” along the railings.
