The last thing Swiss speed skier and cyclist Philippe May expected on his journey to a bicycle race in San Diego was a heart problem. He ended up at Scripps Clinic where he was diagnosed with a potentially fatal condition and implanted with a cardiac defibrillator. But this wasn’t any cardiac defibrillator. The wireless device came with a bedside station that allows his doctors in San Diego to monitor his condition while he’s at home in Switzerland via a cellphone app. Learn more about this and other next generation heart treatments here.
